I wanted to talk to you today about car accidents and what happens if you don’t go to the doctor right away. So you’ve had a car accident and you feel like you’re hurting, but you just don’t feel like it’s bad enough that you have to go to the hospital and you have to go to the doctor.
So what do you do? Does that hurt your case? Are you going to lose credibility because you did’t treat and now it’s not that serious? Well, I think that the answer to that is, it’s quite ok to take some time to feel your body. A lot of times when we have a severe trauma we’re so much in our head and we’re so much in the adrenaline of it that we don’t necessarily feel the pain and where it hurts. Over days the back pain starts to come and the neck pain starts to really be intense. Sometimes it intensifies and gets worse, so if you wait a few days to go to the doctor, it’s not a problem, even a week could be ok.
But you do want to use the rule of thumb: if you get into a car accident, first of all, you will have insurance, so go to the doctors, get yourself treated, and also talk to a smart attorney, somebody who does personal injury, who knows the game, who knows the way that insurance companies operate; they can send you to the right doctors. Sometimes you go to your primary doctor and that might not be the best idea, especially if they don’t treat patients who have done personal injury, that have had auto accidents, or any kinds of slip and fall situation. Not that it’s bad to go see your primary doctor, but sometimes you need somebody who specializes in that type of physical pain injuries.
That’s all for now. I just wanted to let you know that even if you have not treated, you’ve been in a car accident and you haven’t treated for a couple of days or even a week, it’s ok. You can go to your doctor and get your treatment on! Call an attorney and get a sense of do I have a case, is there a special doctor you need to go to in order to get well? Your primary focus needs to be getting well.
So think about these things and if I can ever give you a free consultation if you’re in the Greater Philadelphia area or in Pennsylvania even, I’d be happy to give you a free consultation. Just call (215)-557-7111, and I will be very happy to speak with you and give you my best advice.
